How COMPASS works
Introduced in September 2023, COMPASS is a points-based framework that evaluates EP applications on both individual and company attributes.
Compared against sector-specific benchmarks for your age band. Financial services has higher thresholds.
Higher points for degrees from top-tier globally ranked institutions. MOM maintains its own recognised list.
Measures what percentage of your company shares the candidate's nationality. Lower = better score.
Compares your company's local PMET share against the sub-sector benchmark.
Bonus points if the role is on MOM's Shortage Occupation List — covering tech, finance, and specialist roles.
Up to 10 bonus points for companies with economic development partnerships or significant investment commitments.
